Ugwudioha Matthias Ofili is a Professor of Accounting in Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja. He was Professor of Accounting in California University and a visiting professor of accounting in Veritas University, Abuja. He is a Certified Accountant, Forensic Accountant and Financial Analyst.
He holds PhD in Accounting, PhD in Financial Management (with emphasis in Development Finance), MBA in Financial Management, HND in Accounting and OND in Accounting.
He belongs to the following professional bodies across the globe: Fellow, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria; Fellow, Institute of Cost and Management Accountants; Fellow, Institute of Professional Financial Managers (U.K); Fellow, Forensic and Investigative Auditors; Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered); Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants; Fellow, Institute of Education Research; Fellow, the Academy of Management Nigeria, Member, Institute of Directors; Member, Chartered Institute of Taxation, etc.
He had published 9 Books of international repute (one of which was translated into eight languages and selling across the globe). Some of them include: Public Sector Accounting (2007), Principles of Financial Management (2010), The Nigerian Economy (2011), Fundamentals of Accounting (2017), Fundamentals of Accounting (International Edition) (2018), Financial Management – Theory and Practice (2019), Financial Management – International Edition (2021).
He was a co-author of Auditing Challenges and Management published by the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria in 2008 as well as co-author of Peace and Development (Dialogue series I) the Publication of UFUK dialogue Foundation in 2017.
He had also published 38 Papers in the areas of accounting and development finance in both international and national journals.
He was the past President/Chairman of Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Administration. Prof Ofili was the Executive Director (Finance/Accounts) in Piccolo Brunelli Engineering Ltd. He was former Chairman of Board of Directors of Adarice Nigeria Limited (an Enugu State Government’s owned Rice Production Company) and Chairman of Board of Directors of many other corporate organisations. He is a member of Governing Council of Enugu State Polytechnic.
He was a member of the panel set up by the Head of Service of the Federation in 2007 which visited Britain, South Africa and Ghana to ascertain the possibility of integrating professional certificates into the scheme of service in Nigeria.
The erudite Professor was born to the family of Nze Ugwudioha Okoyo in Abbi, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State of Nigeria. He is happily married to Chief (Mrs) Uche Ofili Ugwudioha and blessed with four lovely children.
